Ifeanyi Asiodu Now Ibusa Youth President

Prominent Ibusa Youth, Ifeanyi Asiodu today emerged the National President of Ibusa Youth Council in an election that held today, June 13, 2020 inside the Ezemese Primary School of the Ibusa community. Asiodu who defeated Chukwudi Obiagbo, his only opponent in the electoral contest was seen full of smiles, dancing and exchanging pleasanties with his supporters and well-wishers following his victory.

In the same vein, Austin Elikwu, a prominent Lawyer from the community also emerged the Council’s Vice-President while seasoned Stand-Up Comedian, Vincent Olimmah was also elected the General Secretary of the Youth Council. Austin Elikwu had defeated Mr. Edozien Nkeaka who was his closest contender in the race to cruise home to victory. On the other hand, it was also a contest of defeat for Nwanji Nkeonye by kinsman, Nwanze Okolichi who coasted home as the Council’s new Provost.

With the calibers of important figures drawn from notable Associations such as Ministry of Youths, Ibusa Community Development Union, Ibusa Branch, joined by Hon Frank Esenwa, Vice-Chairman, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Mr Ignatius Aghaulor, Chief Youth Development Officer, Ministry of Youths, Comrade Okonji Kenneth, Chairman, Delta State Youth Council, Chief Amaechi Nwaenie, the Uwolo of Ibusa, among others, all of who were present as delegates to observe the election, it was generally adjudged a free, fair and peaceful election bereft of violence with the outcome also generally accepted by the candidates and community at large.

After the election, Pen Master, Chief Admin of ICDU News Port, reached out to the new President, Ifeanyi Asiodu and Vincent Olimmah on the phone to get their views. But while Asiodu, the new President promised to thanked and promised to call him back to speak on his expectations to the Ibusa people, Umuekea-born Vincent Olimmah, the elected General Secretary opened up.

“Having emerged the people’s choice of my community’s General Secretary, I will ensure that the data of residents of Ibusa are made available, including those that are not youths. You are yourself a Scribe and Historian, and like others, you will easily gain access to our people’s phone contacts. The Fulanis resident in our community will also have their contacts registered”, he told Pen Master in a phone conversation.

“We will establish our Secretariat in Igbuzo”, the General Secretary further promised.

Finally, the ace Stand-up Comedian dedicated his victory to the Ibusa people that believed and voted for him including those that encouraged him.

Reacting shortly after the election ended, Chukwudi Obiagbo who lost yo Asiodu but congratulated wrote on the social media:

“We congratulate our opponent Mr Ifeanyi Asiodu on his victory. Even though we have some reservations, we assure that we will not seek legal redress but my foundation will continue to partner with the Ibusa great elites and our traditional institutions in order to ensure our vision for a better Ibusa is achieved.
Thank you all for your support”.

The election was supervised by infatigable Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Community Development, Hon Innocent Esewezie assisted by Mr. Austin Eloka Ajufo and Comrade Ifeanyi Nwaezeigwe among others. The new Ibusa Youth Council, Ifeanyi Asiodu has now taken over from Sir Alfred Isoh, his immediate predecessor.
