Veteran musician, Mr. Ogbogu Okonji has lamented the loss of his band member, Obiechie Nwabuoku. The Anioma traditional musician who hails from Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State made this disclosure in a submission posted on his Facebook wall earlier today.

“I have lost someone who is very respectful, so dear to me and entire Anioma Brothers Band. He was my Ubome (Big Gong) player and the secretary of the Band”. The Ekobe musician reported regrettably.

Late Obiechie Nwabuoku, also an indigene of the community was shot dead by daring men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on rampage in the community on Saturday May 16.

Ibusa and neighbouring communities of Okpanam, Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-Uku and Illah have been battling the Fulani menace in recent times.

In the past two days, youths of the community have protested to the traditional ruler of the community, HRM Obi Prof Louis Chelunor Nwaoboshi, calling on him to act with swiftness to save the community from further invasions.

A reliable source who spoke to this reporter on anonymity suggested that the people need to come together to fight the menace since security as a collective action.
